Saltbox – Fundraising & “Ship Happens” Commercial Campaign

Project Overview

Saltbox, a co-warehousing and logistics company for modern e-commerce brands, partnered with Motion Sickness Media to bring their commercial campaign to life. With a clear vision and tight timeline, they needed a production partner who could move quickly, elevate their concept, and deliver polished results. Our team led the creative refinement process—enhancing their script, crafting visual direction, and executing a multi-day shoot on-location in Denver. From pre-production through post, we delivered high-impact content that fueled both their fundraising efforts and brand campaign, Ship Happens.

Fundraising Video for 2024 Crowdfunding

This video successfully communicated Saltbox’s vision, playing a crucial role in their fundraising efforts. Due to its effectiveness, the video will also be repurposed for their upcoming Series C fundraising efforts in 2025.

Challenges & Solutions

Short Timeline & Fast Turnaround

• Saltbox’s fixed timeline required accelerated planning and condensed pre-production.

• We rapidly developed a detailed shot list and production strategy to maximize efficiency.

• Final deliverables were turned around swiftly to align with the launch of their crowdfunding campaign.

On-Location Filming in Denver, CO

• Executing the shoot in Denver demanded precise coordination of logistics, equipment, and travel.

• We facilitated an on-site pre-production session with Saltbox’s marketing team to align creative, lock locations, and troubleshoot operational constraints.

Operational Environment & Real Member Integration

• A critical challenge was integrating real e-commerce business owners into the production—capturing authentic moments without disrupting daily operations.

• We built a flexible, location-specific shot strategy to navigate the active Saltbox warehouse, varied business hours, and brand-approved access.

• Our team remained nimble on set, adapting to live conditions while preserving narrative continuity and visual consistency.

Brand Messaging & Storytelling

• The fundraising video needed to communicate Saltbox’s business model, technology, and community value in a compelling, investor-focused narrative.

• The “Ship Happens” series required a tonal shift—blending humor and relatability to spotlight real challenges faced by small business owners and Saltbox’s role in solving them.

“Ship Happens” Promotional Video Series

A creative, campaign highlighting the key pain points of small business shipping—cost, time constraints, and operational chaos.

The Impact

Our campaign played a key role in Saltbox’s successful crowdfunding launch, helping communicate their vision in a compelling, investor-friendly format. The “Ship Happens” series added engaging, relatable content that resonated with small business owners and drove awareness of Saltbox’s shipping solutions.

Through strategic storytelling and engaging visuals, we delivered a compelling campaign that resonated with both investors and Saltbox’s target audience of small business owners.

Saltbox Phoenix UGC Videos

As part of a continued partnership with Saltbox, Motion Sickness Media produced a set of UGC-style videos to support the opening and community engagement at their Phoenix, Arizona location. Unlike the commercial campaign produced in Denver, this project focused on capturing authentic, first-person storytelling designed to resonate with local small business owners and entrepreneurs.

Filmed in a casual, conversational tone, the videos highlight key features of the Saltbox Phoenix space—co-working areas, warehouse suites, conference rooms, and fulfillment support—through the lens of a small business owner seeking a flexible and professional environment. The deliverables were optimized for social media and digital marketing, aligning with Saltbox’s broader content strategy to drive awareness and local engagement.
